Early in my career (back in 2011), I had the opportunity to collaborate with a local signage company to develop concept designs and final mural artwork for a themed restaurant just outside the entrance to Hershey Park. Though the restaurant is no longer there, I wish my daughters could have experienced the vibrant and immersive space we created.
The goal was to envision what the restaurant could look like and enhance the guest experience through engaging visuals. I started with hand-drawn sketches, which evolved into refined digital illustrations once concepts were approved. The project included three uniquely themed areas: the Character Room, Roller Coaster Room, and Carousel Room—each requiring careful planning and conceptualization.
Beyond designing 2D graphics for the restaurant walls, I also helped conceptualize 3D elements, all while ensuring consistency with the Hershey brand. While I didn’t create the original Hershey Characters, my prior experience in character design for animation helped me maintain on-model accuracy.
Though the space is now a memory, I was able to find a few photos and even a video showcasing the breakfast experience in this colorful, family-friendly environment. Seeing the joy on visitors' faces makes me believe my daughters would have loved it just as much as they did.
